Rebekah's House: A Christmas Tour

December 19, 2018

Christmas time is here, and I want to take a moment to share with you a little tour of my house. Decorating for Christmas is a delight, and I love combining my antiques with natural greenery to fill the house with cheer. For those of you who are new to the blog, my home, located in Northeast Ohio, was built in 1838. I use it as a backdrop for many of my photos, so you might even recognize a few spots. So come on in and take a look around! Make sure to click on the pictures in the galleries below to see more about each one.

I have done some rearranging recently and I just love this chest of drawers in its new home. There has been more preparation than usual for Christmas. Repainting the living room/dining room led to rearranging the room and a whole lot of cleaning! But it is nice to have a fresh and clean place for our Christmas celebration this year.

The Christmas tree is filled with ornaments that range from folk art styles to wildlife. Every year, as a tradition, I buy each of my girls a unique ornament. My oldest two now decorate their own tree with these, but I still have the youngest, Tessa, around to help me decorate mine. Tessa went through an owl phase, so you'll see lots of owls on the tree, along with other whimsical ornaments I have picked up throughout the years.

While I am a collector of antiques, I do not necessarily gather multiples of the same type of object. However, there is one true collection I have which seems to grow each year. I love ironstone and transferware, and this year the collection looks so festive. Click on the pictures below to take a closer look. The simplicity of the dishes, along with their unique details, makes a beautiful statement in my cupboards.

I hope you have enjoyed this little Christmas tour of my house. It is a joy to share it with you, and I am wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
